Our ANZAC Day Stableford Event sponsored by the Royal Hotel was well attended with visitors from Tocumwal and Jamberoo (WA). 33 members and guests entered this year’s event, and the weather played its part again. Sunshine brings out the best in golfers and it did again with the winner in the men’s section was our Captain Jack Hewitt (10) on 39 points and R/up was Kevin Lane (16) 37 pts. Winner of the Ladies was our visitor from Jamberoo Rhonda McKinley (31) 36pts and R/up was Michelle Dillon (9) on 33. Nearest the pins were Phil Lloyd on the 3rd, Gary Pay 5th, Graeme Brierley 9th, David Wood 13th and Chris Waterson on the 16th.

10 lady members had another fine day for golf and the winner was Jenny Waterson with 35 points from Carol Dear on 34 points. Chino’s NTP went to Chrissy Downs.
Thursday R & R Stableford 27 April 2023.
A windy cool afternoon greeted the 16 members who entered the competition. The winner was Brendan Shields on a 3-way countback from G Wyte and R Fabry all on 38 points. NTP’s went to P Jones on the 5th, T Hall the 9th, J Tartaglia the 13th, T Laughlin the 16th and no one was able to claim 3rd.

Saturday Stableford and again not a huge crowd but we did have 2 visitors , Paul Jackson from Rich River GC and Andrew Lowther from St Leonards, as we had a number of golfers play in Murrabit GC’s open day. Luke Hadfield (9) had a good day despite a club landing in a tree and the shaft breaking on another one to win with 36pts. Ladies winner was Michelle Dillon (9) on 35 with Carol Dear (27 close behind on 34. Ball pool was Barry Gladman (26) 35, Frank Ritchie (16) and Chris Waterson (4) both on 34 pts. Nearest the pins were Ross Nesbit 3rd, Chris Waterson 5th, Michelle Dillon 9th, Luke Hadfield 13th and no one landed on the 16th. For his fine round of golf our visitor Andrew Lowther won our coveted pen.

Kerang GC travelled to Lalbert for Pennant, Div 1 v Lakeside and Div 2 v Cohuna 3. Div 1 went down 3/1 so they are not in the finals, but Div 2 had a 3/2 win and they are now in the Grand Final to be played at Lakeside this coming Sunday and our opponents will be Lalbert so all the best to those players. Monthly Medal this weekend is Stroke, so count them all everyone and lets have a good day.
