Ladies Golf – Wednesday June 16th

The Kerang Golf Course presented as ‘sticky and tricky’ this week for the lady golfers. Meryl Cameron was the best of the battlers scoring a 90 (16) 74 to claim her second monthly medal for 2021. Three ladies followed with 77, Michelle Dillon and Joyce Boyd claiming a ball. Joyce also won the putting competition with 28. Chino’s Nearest the Pin went to Rosie Laughlin who took home a new pen as well.

We are all wishing Geraldine a speedy recovery after a little health scare this week. Golf is just not the same without you Geraldine!

See you next Wednesday at 9.30 for 10!

Queens Birthday

Our stableford on Monday drew out a small crowd but Greg Gin (16) before he left for a long break in his caravan around Australia, won the day on count back from Phil Lloyd (11) with both players on 40 points. The ball pool went to Phil Lloyd, Olive Spitty (4) 38, her Dad Andrew (+2) 37 and Chris Waterson (5) got the last ball. Nearest the pins were Chris Waterson 3rd, Doug Meehan 5th, Terry Turvey 9th, Andrew Spitty 13th and no one managed to land on the 16th. Andrew Spitty had 69 off the stick for the best stroke score and Ron Schultze proudly now owns a new pen.

Thursday R & R Stableford

Twenty Golfers (some would call them idiots), took to the course in cold, wet and misty rain and all finished! The days winner was Max Wilson with 37 points on a countback from Joe Tartaglia also on 37 points. Ball pool went to Joe 37, A Spitty 36, who had the best stroke score of 69, G Gin and L Hadfield both with 32. NTP’s 3rd & 5th L Hadfield, 9th A Free, 13th G Pay.

Saturday Golf

With Footy back on numbers were down a little and with the wind and low temps only the die hards turned up for golf. Chris Gray (14) had one of his better days to win with 35 points on a low scoring day and Shirley Jenner (20) won the Ladies event with 33 pts from Rosie Laughlin (33) on 32. In the ball pool were Doug Ellwood (20) 34, Tony Laughlin (10), Ross Nesbit (11) and Phil Lloyd (11) all on 33 pts. Best on the greens were Rhonda Willoughby 3rd, Chris Gray on the 5th and 9th, Michelle Dillon got the money on the 13th and Andrew Spitty won on the 16th. Again, Andrew Spitty had the best stroke score with 74 and Joe Tartaglia happily pocketed the pen with his great score.
