Wednesday Ladies Final Round Singles Championships

The final round has been completed and the Singles Champion for 2023/24 is Olive Spitty.

(71+71+74=216) Olive also won the A Grade Championship, plus the Best Nett score, over the 3

rounds.

Olive set a new course record of 70, the previous was 71 set also by Olive and shot the lowest score

ever as a Ladies Club Champion, for the Kerang Golf Club. Also of note is that it’s believed for the

first time ever the Women’s Club Champion’s 54-hole stroke score was better than the Men’s 54-

hole Club Champions score.

The B Grade Champion is Shirley Jenner (101+95+95=291) and coming second was Carol Dear.

The best Nett Score over the 3 rounds was Meagan Taylor 223.

The Les Jobling Trophy (played as a Stableford event, during the Men’s Championships) winner is

Olive Spitty on 35 points and Runner up Joyce Boyd on 31 points.

The day’s event was won by Meagan Taylor (87-18=69) Ball Pool C Dear 99-27=77, M Learmonth (96-

23=73 and S Jenner (95-22=73)

Thursday R & R Stableford

This is the last opportunity for the Men to fine tune their games, coming into the last round of the

Championships on Saturday. 26 members fronted up on a great sunny, hot day, trying to win. The

best was Chris Waterson firing a great score of 41 points. In the Ball pool, Matthew Heavyside made

a rare appearance and shot 39 points, L Hadfield 38, K Williams, another making a return to golf, 37

and D Ellwood 36.

NTP’s went to M Heavyside 3 rd , C Waterson 5 th & 9 th , R Fabry 13 th and P Lloyd 16 th .

Saturday Men’s Final Round Singles Championships

The 2023 Men’s Singles Champion is Andrew Spitty (75+75+70=220) and Runner up is Chris

Waterson (77+76+77=230).

B Grade Champion is Graham Wyte (86+87+83=256), Runner Up is Scott Harry (83+89+87=259).

C Grade Champion is Allan Free (95+97+93=285), Runner Up is Casey Gillen (97+95+99=291).

The Charlie Nesbit Trophy (best net score over 3 rounds) Chris Waterson 218.NDGA Medal (best Net

Score over 2 rounds) Peter Hall 145.

Matt Colville Memorial Medalist of the Year (all players who have won the Monthly Medal for the

previous year) Blake Shay.
