Ladies golf

Happy New Year everyone, let’s hope 2022 is a year we move forward.

7 ladies contested for the Monthly Medal Shirt. The winner has the big responsibility of picking the new colour for the year.

Chrissy Downs with 94-25=69, had a day out with a great score & Queen of the Greens with 26 putts, breaking her handicap to 24. Well done, we might all be wearing Hawthorne coloured shirts instead of the Flouro’sJoyce Boyd tried really hard, with 98-24=74, just in front of Carol Dear with 100-24=76. Michelle Dillon had one shot better than the rest winning a Coffee from Chino’s. Thanks Raylene for your support .

Thursday  Golf

We welcomed 30 players to our first R & R day for the new year and of those we had visitors from Berriwillock, Boort and Lakeside and 2 new members in Patrick Featonby and Robert Dick putting in their first cards. Poddy Free (16) coming back from injury won the day with 37 points from Rob Fabry (17) on 36. In the ball pool was also Ron Thouliss (17) and Gary Pay (15) both on 35 and Ron Schultze (23), Phil Lloyd (10) got the last 2 balls on c/b from John Murphy (23) and Kevin Lane (17) all on 34. NTP’s 3rd Peter Jones, 5th & 9th Kevin Lane, 13th Rob Dick and 16th Phil Lloyd. Saturday Golf

The first Greenwood Mugge for the year was played and won by our friendly barman David Stubbs (26) with 40 points on c/b from old John Murphy (23). The Ladies section was won by Michelle Dillon (8) 37 pts who just managed to edge out Joyce Boyd (24) by one point and she also had the best stroke score for the day of 78. In the ball pool was John Murphy, Graham Wyte (12) and Col Wilkie (14) both on 39 pts, Scott Harry (12) 38, Gary Hayes (17) 37 and Joyce Boyd got the last ball on c/b from Poddy Free both on 36. Nearest the pins were Barry Gladman on the 3rd, Joe Tartaglia 5th, Ken Williams 9th, Michelle Dillon got the gold on the 13th and no one could find the green on the 16th. Our visitor from Lalbert Maurice Meehan (12) gladly accepted his pen award for his fine score of the day. The Captain also put on a teams multiplier event for the day and the winners were the team of Col Wilkie, Doug Ellwood, Graham Wyte and Poddy Free with a score of 305 so well done to them. Don’t forget Autopro Ambrose is on Australia day so get your teams together for that  day and it is open for non-golfers also.
