11th December results

Twilight Golf

Tuesday night on another windy night our twilight golfers ventured out for a fun night. One of our regular golfers in Deaniee Henderson had a good night out to win with a nett 33.5. In second spot was Chris Gray with 35 nett and next was Logan Keighran 35.5 nett. The winner of the non golfers was M Ferguson with a nett 33.5 from Andrew Lindsay on 36 nett. Nearest the pins were M Ferguson on the 3 rd and the 5 th and Deaniee won it on the 9 th . Longest drive on the 6 th was Brad Short. Nearest the line on the 4 th Ken Williams and nearest the tyre second shot was Jordan Simpson.

Thursday Golf

With most of the wind gone 20 golfers took part in the R & R day. The best of the lot was Rob Fabry (23) winning with a great score of 40 pts this included a wipe on the 6 th hole and 3 double bogies so his score could have been a lot better. In the ball pool we had Kevin Sambrooks (22) 39 pts, Gary Thorne (7) 39 pts and Simon Shanks (20) 37 pts and the nearest the pins no one on the 3 rd 9 th and Don Ross on 5 th and Rob Fabry on the 13 th .

Saturday Golf

A good field of 34 golfers turned up to play this day and the difference was for a change there was no wind which made the day more enjoyable for our Monthly Medal day. Bigsy Gray (16) made the best of a good day to win with a nett 66. Only 3 bogies on the first nine set him up for a good score but 4 bogies and 2 double bogies on the back nine left him wondering what could have been. Second place Logan Keighran (11) one of our newest members, who hit off early, came in with a nett 67 and with a bit more practice around the greens he will have his handicap down to singles in no time.

Ball pool was Logan Keighran, Shane Dibsdale (12) and Tony Hall (16) 69 nett, Michelle Dillon (9), Who also had the best stroke score of 79, 70 nett, Ron Schultze (27), Don Ross (11) and Tony Laughlin (13) all on 71 nett and Joe Tartaglia (17) 72 nett. Nearest the pins, on the 3 rd Poddy Free and on the 9 th , young James Meehan on the 5 th , Doug Meehan on 16 th and the Superpin to Ron Schultze, good to see him hitting good form again. Our most prized pen award went to Ang Giouzellis.

Sunday Golf

Our first McLardyMcShaneClark day was held in again good conditions for golf and over 60 players vied for the prizes on offer. The team of Chris Waterson, Graham Wyte, Jarrad Walker, Scott Worner won the stroke section with a 64 off the stick. Handicap winners were Logan Keighran, Chris Gray, Lachlan Hall, Shane Hall with a score of 68 – 10.8 = 57.2 and H/C runners up the sponsors team of Jim Clark, Gary Hayes, Roger Pay, Anthony Robertson 67 – 8.9 = 58.1. Nearest the pins, 3rd Tony Laughlin, 5 th Michelle Dillon, 9 th Peter Hall, 13 th Dave Gray, 16 th was Bryan Livingston.

Longest drive on the 6 th was Scott Worner who got one out of the screws, nearest the line on the 4 th was Old Murph who managed to land it on the line and nearest the pin second shot on the 8 th was a visitor from Wedderburn, Owen Bailey. The all important pen award went to Joe Tartaglia, Doug Ellwood, Poddy Free and Mark Henderson.

Don’t forget the Max and Gav Day on Saturday (Note change of day) Dec 28 th 1:00 Hit Off, members please bring a plate this day and for those thinking of taking up golf come and play Tuesday twilight golf its only nine holes and a good introduction to golf tee off any time between 4 and 6 o’clock.

Ladies Golf – Wednesday December 11th

The weather was perfect for the ladies today, so some big scores were expected… golf never fails to disappoint though does it! A small field of 7 battled the course with the always steady Rhonda Willoughby victorious with 33 stableford points. She received the Chino’s voucher for her efforts. Meryl Cameron had a good day as well, scoring in the ball pool as well as the two nearest the pin prizes. We welcomed a Bendigo visitor, Karen Lloyd, and rewarded her with a lovely pen!

Next Wednesday’s golf will be at 8.30 for 9. Don’t forget our Christmas get together on Wednesday 18th – Sporties at 6pm
