Thursday Golf Our Rich & Retired golfers enjoyed a great day out on Thursday with 21 turning up to play. The fairways are drying out a bit but if we can get a lift in our water allocation the Grounds people will have back looking a picture in no time. The man that likes the dry conditions the best was Donny Ross (11) with 41 pts, he’s front nine was great with only 2 bogies on 2 and 8 he faulted a little on the back nine with 5 bogies and a birdie so he could have had a huge score with out them and should be back down to singles soon. In the ball pool was the evergreen Tony Laughlin (13) 39, Greg McNeil (24) 38, Simon Shanks (20) 37 and Graham Wyte (13) also 37 pts. Nearest the pins 5th T Turvey, 9th K Sambrooks, 13th G Wyte & 16th S Shanks. Saturday Golf With the wind that we’ve been getting for a while almost gone some good golf is now getting played and one golfer to take advantage to win this months Greenwood Mugge was Joe Tartaglia(17) to win with 41 pts explains why he and his partner Greg Gin won their Westy 4ball match against Gav and Dibba 4/2 although I am told Greg sunk some nice putts for wins so it was a good team effort. In the ball pool was Scott Worner (33) 41 pts, Phillip Lloyd (20 a visitor) 39, Red Manners (9) 39, Allan Free (18) 38 and Gary Pay (17) and Peter Hall (15) both on 37, the unlucky loser to miss out on 37 pts was Jim Clark. Nearest the pins were 3 rd Terry Turvey, 5th Poddy Free, 9 th Blake Shay, superpin 13 th Gary Hayes and the 16 th Michelle Dillon. The ladies was won by Jenny Waterson (23) who played early which obviously helped her win with 35 pts. Doug Meehan (5) won he’s very first pen which is a great achievement and the best stroke score was by Red Manners with 77 off the stick. Premier League Premier League is now in abeyance until January 15 th. In a very close contest Hogans Heroes are on top by percentage from Thorn Birds who jumped from 4 th to 2 nd with their win last week, The Captains 3 rd , Birdies and Beers 4 th Hall Hackers are 5 th and bringing up the rear are Whips Boys.
