16th August results

Ladies Golf – Wednesday July 11th  

Well there’s always an excuse for bad golf and this week it was the gale force winds. Surprisingly Olive Spitty made it around the course without being blown away and finished with 34 points to win the day. Runner up was Ange Giouzellis with a very steady round of 33. Jill Marshall was next also with 33 and a very impressive 3 birdies! Jill also collected the Chino’s Nearest the Pin on the 9th.

Thursday Golf

As we all welcomed back golf this week, we had 3 players equal at the top with 37 points each and the winner was on c/b was Andrew Spitty (+2) who also had the best stroke score of 68. The players in the ball pool were Wayne O’Neill (25), Tony Laughlin (10) with there 37’s, Frank Ritchie (18) 36 and Rob Fabry (18) 35. Nearest the pins went to Geoff Williams on the 3rd, Andrew Spitty on the 5th and 9th, Phil Lloyd 13th and Jean Youl on the 16th.

Saturday Golf

Not only was it great to be back on the course again but the golfing gods really smiled upon us with the magnificent weather it organised for all. Frank Ritchie (18) truly enjoyed his day carrying on his good form from Thursday to win the Greenwood Mugge with a mammoth 43 points. Ladies winner of their Bottomless goblet was again Mabel Spitty (40) with 37pts to win by 1 point from Rhonda Willoughby (22). In the ball pool was Joel Robertson (18) 41, Red Manners (7) 37, Rhonda Willoughby 36, David Wood (12), Doug Ellwood (22), Frank Cianci (24), Meryl Cameron (17), Chris Gray (15), Graham Wyte, (11) and Max Wilson (13) all those last seven players were all on 35 pts. nearest to the pins were Ken Williams 3rd, Chris Waterson 5th, Ross Nesbit 9th, Frank Cianci nearly holed out to win the money on the 13th and Andrew Spitty the 16th. The all important pen was a four way tie with Peter Hall (13) winning on c/b.
