23rd August results

Ladies Golf – Wednesday August 18th  

Mathematically bad weather = bad golf and good weather = good golf??? Well, that’s exactly how it turned out to be on a perfect winter morning with lots of great scores coming in. Chrissy Downs enjoyed a day off work, racking up an inspiring 38 points. Lorraine Bray and Jill Marshall followed with 37 and Joyce Boyd was back amongst the ball pool with 36. We had a few contenders land on the 9th  but it was Deaniee Henderson who got the Chino’s coffee voucher this week.

Rosie Laughlin showed us how to play the new temporary tee on the 4th by sinking her ball from 100 metres out – from the 2nd fairway, through the trees and straight in the hole – easy! She also learnt that stinging nettles still sting just as much as they used to. 

Thursday R & R Stableford

For such a fabulous day for playing golf, it was sad to see only 16 golfers challenge the course! Evergreen golfer, John Murphy, showed that he still has it by winning the day’s event with 43 points from runner up Don Ross with 40 points. NTP’s went to James Meehan Jnr on 3rd & 9th, Joe Tartaglia on the 5th, Doug Meehan on the 13th and 16 was too difficult for all.
