16th January Results

Ladies Wednesday Golf Monthly Medal

The picking of the new shirt for our Monthly Medal, saw a big field of 15 turn up on a vert hot day, some ladies played early, and the club house leader was Nola Robinson with 95-27=68, but in came Jenny Waterson with 85-17=68to pip her on a countback, good luck choosing the shirt, Jen. The winner of the day’s event was Marg Learmonth with 87-23=64, dropping her handicap by 2 strokes. Jan Harry had another nice round with 82-11=71 & winning the putts with 25. Meryl Cameron had the best shot of the day on Chino’s 9th hole. The weather is going to be cooler on Wednesday so hit off at 9.30 am, happy hitting, your Captain.

Thursday R & R Stableford 12 January 2023

The rich & retired are a tough bunch with the hot weather here and still good numbers turning up for a round. Robert Dick (17) 39 pts won the day by two points from Casey Gillen (19) on 37. In the ball pool was Casey, Brendan Shields (12) 36, Graham Wyte (11) and Col Wilkie (9) both on 35 got the last balls on c/b from Terry Turvey (13), Jack Hewitt (11) and Peter Jones (15). Nearest the pins were Doug Meehan 3rd, Gary Hayes 5th, Kevin Lane 9th and Chris Waterson 13th and 16th and the latter nearly was his second hole in one in a week.

Twilight Golf 13th January 2023

Twilight golf in the hot weather on Friday had a small turn out and the winner of the night was Jordan Simpson 42 – 10 = 32 very closely follow by Jan Harry 38 – 5.5 = 32.5. I don’t have results of ntp’s hopefully next week. Don’t forget Twilight is every Friday from 4pm for nine holes cost is $6 for members and $8 for non-members and non-golfers are most welcome to come and play as it’s a great way to introduce yourself to golf.

Saturday Golf Greenwood Mugge 14th January 2023

The Greenwood Mug was played and won by Brad Short (10) with 38 pts on c/b from Kevin Sambrooks (17). Ladies’ winner and a continuation of good form for Jenny Waterson (17) 38 pts to take the Goblet for the month from Nola Robinson (29) 37. (Similar outcome following on from Wednesday’s results) Ball pool Kevin Sambrooks, Jordan Simpson (21), Greg Gin (17), Casey Gillen (19), Nola Robinson, Robert Dick (16) all those players on 37 pts and Peter Hall (13) missed out on c/b. Nearest the pins were Jenny Waterson 3rd, Peter Hall 5th, Scott Harry 9th, Kevin Sambrooks got the money on 13th and Brad Short on the 16th. Secretary Shirl has a new pen to write up her monthly reports. 

We have the Laughie 4Ball this coming Sunday and the AutoPro 4P Ambrose on Thursday, Australia Day. So get your teams in for those events and the Ambrose is open for non-golfers as well.
