9th January results

Ladies Golf Wednesday 4 January 2023

Happy New Year everyone! 9 ladies had a hit on Wednesday and all enjoying the cooler weather. Shirley Jenner (20) had another good round with 35 points, to drop another shot off her handicap. Rosie Laughlin (35) lost on a C/B after swapping her bowls for golf clubs. Jean Youl was in the ball pool. Lorraine Bray was happy with her note pad to go with her new Pen. Angela Morton won the Chino’s NTP 9thand Jan Harry has also been working hard on her golf to get her handicap down to 11, well done Dougo. Monthly Medal this week and the winner to choose the new shirt colour for the year. Happy Golfing cheers your Captain.

Captains Day January 2nd 2023

On the 2nd of January we had a 4BBB any combo, sponsored by the Captain, and with a good turn out the winners of the day were Peter Jones/ Phil Lloyd with 44pts on c/b from Gav Teasdale/Dave Gray. Mixed winners were Scott/Jan Harry with 43 pts from Doug Meehan/Bron Good 42 and the ladies winners were Karyl Hewitt/ Toni Kilderry 38 pts from Michelle Dillon/Chrissy Downs 37 all results were very close . Nearest the pins were Phil Lloyd 3rd, Terry Turvey 5th, David Wood 9th, Karyl Hewitt 13th and no one landed on the 16th. Nearest the line on the 4th hole were Shirley Jenner Ladies and Kevin Sambrooks Men, longest drive on 18th were Michelle Dillon, Ladies and Jack Hewitt Men. The winners of the prestigious pen award were the combo of Peter Wright/ Josh Free.

Thursday R & R Stableford 5th January 2023

A huge field of golfers for our R & R Day and the winner was the youngest bloke on the course Luke Hadfield (12) with 39 points just pipping Terry Turvey (13) by one point. The ball pool was Terry Turvey, Graham Wyte (12), Mark Henderson (29), Chris Waterson (4) and Ron Schultze (22) all of them on 36 points. Best of the short holes were Chris Waterson 5th, Brendan Shields 9th and 13th, Andrew Spitty 16th and no one found the 3rd green.

Saturday January 7th 2023

The Monthly Medal was played and won this month by the most inform man of the moment in Mark Henderson (28) with a net 65 and hopefully his form continues for a while to come. Ladies winner was Jan Harry (12), who has been playing very well lately, with a net 71 from Michelle Dillon (9) on net 72. Ball pool was James Meehan (11) 66, Gary Pay (16) and Ross Nesbit (12) both on 68, Col Wilkie (10), Peter Wilson (17) both on 69 net Dave Gray (15) who had an eagle on the 2nd hole, 70 and Ron Schultze (22), Kevin Sambrooks (17) and Wayne O’Neill (21) all on 71 net. Nearest the pins were Jason Williams 3rd, Chris Waterson 5th, Chrissy Downs 9th, Graham Wyte 13th and Gary Pay on the 16th. 

We have the Laughie 4BBB on the 22nd of January and the Autopro 4 Person Ambrose on the Australia Day Holiday so golfers organise your teams for those days. As mentioned earlier Dave Gray had an eagle on the 2nd on Saturday well Chris Waterson went one better on Sunday at Murray Downs and had a hole in one on the 11th, well done to you Chris, hope to see all you golfers this Saturday at the club for the Greenwood Mugge and the Ladies Goblet.
