Kerang Golf Club Champions for 2022

We held our last day of club championships on Sunday and our winners were, in the C Grade was the irrepressible Casey Gillen who kept up his form for 3 weeks and won with 275 strokes from the fast-finishing John Murphy on 281 strokes.

 In the B Grade in a very tight contest Peter Hall came from way back in the boon docks to over run everyone to win with 261 from Brendan Shields on 262. 

In the A Grade Andrew Spitty won his 6th title in a row and 9th overall winning with a score of 217 to win from Chris Waterson on 234. 

Other awards, John Murphy won the Charlie Nesbit Memorial trophy for the best nett score of the championships, with a score of 212 to win from Jack Hewitt on 213. 

Jack Hewitt won the Matt Colville Medalist of the Year and also the NDGA Medalist of the Year for the best nett score for the first two rounds with a nett 138. 

The Ladies were playing for the Les Jobling Trophy and the winner of this was Michelle Dillon with 107 pts to win easily from Jan Harry on 95 pts. 

The competition for the day was again another stroke round and the winner was Peter Hall (14) with a net 67. Winner for the Ladies, who played a stableford round, was Michelle Dillon (10) 39 pts from Mabel Spitty (22) on 36. In the ball pool we had John Murphy (23) and Terry Turvey on nett 68, Peter Jones (15) and Kevin Lane (16) who were on 70 nett, Chris Gray (16) and Graham Wyte (14) both on 71 nett. Nearest the pins were Blake Shay on the 3rd, Michelle Dillon 5th, Ron Schultze 9th, Andrew Spitty 13th and Logan Keighran on the 16th.
