/Thursday Golf
Good weather for our R & R Golfers on Thursday with a couple of visitors from Lakeside and Kevin Sambrooks (17) was our winner with 38 points from Ron Schultze (20) 37, Col Wilkie (12) 34, Peter Jones (17), Geoff Williams (17) both on 33 and Tony Laughlin (10) getting the last ball on a c/b from Don Ross (9) both on 32. Nearest the pins were Kevin Sambrooks 3rd, Ken Williams 5th, Ron Schultze on 9th and 16th and no one managed to get on the 13th. Spud McKerrow was the gracious winner off the pen on c/b from Chris Gray. Great to see Ken Williams back on the golf course after a long layoff won’t be long before he’s back in the winner’s circle.
Saturday Golf
A mixed day weather wise when we started off with dark clouds then a few drops of rain and then the heat came late in the afternoon. No wonder I never quite know what to wear before I go to golf. Old John Murphy (24) although not as quick on his feet as he used to be still showed the rest of the field a clean pair of heels by winning the day with 40 points to collect the Greenwood Mugge for the next four weeks. The others that made the ball pool were Tony Laughlin (10) 38, Shane Dibsdale (10) 37, Chris Waterson (3), Gary Hayes (18) and Bryan Livingston (17) all on 36, Gary Thorne (5), Scott Harry (12), Jen Waterson (19) and Casey Gillen (19) all on 35 and those that missed out on 35 points were Blake Shay (11), Kevin Sambrooks (17), Chris Gray (14), Gavin Teasdale (11) and Jim Apostolelis (19). Nearest the pins were Scott Harry on the 3rd, Shane Dibsdale 5th, Andrew Spitty 9th, James Meehan got the cash on the 13th and Chris Waterson the 16th. Once again Andrew Spittty got the best stroke score with 71 and Gary Pay won the pen.
