28th February results

Ladies Golf – Wednesday February 24th 

It felt more like the middle of winter than a Kerang summer when 9 rugged up ladies headed out on the golf course this Wednesday.  Meryl Cameron relished the cool conditions racking up a handy 36 stableford points. She also landed on the 9th to take home the Nearest the Pin coffee voucher from Chino's. Close behind Meryl with 35 points, was our ever-consistent lady captain Michelle Dillon. The in-form Nola Robinson claimed 3rd position with 34 points. The course is in amazing condition so come along next week for the monthly medal comp!

Twilight Golf

Twilight golf only has 2 weeks left so get out there and play to get your names in the draw for the vouchers to Halls Hardware. The winner last week was Red Manners with a 39 – 3 = 36, R/up was our President with 43 – 6 = 37. Nearest the pins were left wanting because no one landed on the greens. On our last night on 9th March, we will be having a sausage sizzle and our big raffle draw so all those that have played Twilight please come along and be there to hopefully win the big prize.

Thursday Golf

The oldies turned out for another good day for golf and Donny Ross (9) made to best of it winning with a score of 37 points. In the ball pool we had Rob Fabry (20), Gary Pay (16) both on 36 and Tony Laughlin (9) got the last ball on a count back from Chris Waterson (3) and Simon Shanks (17). The best on the par 3’s was Casey Gillen on the 3rd, Graham Wyte 5th, Gary Pay 9th, Tony Laughlin 13th and Chris Waterson on the 16th.

Saturday Golf 

A few less golfers today but still quality field and the Men’s winner was Doug Ellwood (22) who managed to stop talking and concentrate on his golf for a change won with 37 points on a c/b from Gary Pay (15). Ladies winner was our captain Michelle Dillon (8) with 39 points from Shirley Jenner (22) on 36. In the ball pool was Gary Pay, Shirley Jenner, Gavin Teasdale (11) 36, Chris Gray (14), Deaniee Henderson (22) and David Gray (17) all on 35 and Logan Keighran (4) got the last ball on c/b from Kevin Sambrooks (16), Doug Meehan (6) and Geoff Williams (17). Nearest the pins were Geoff Williams on the 3rd, Chris Gray 5th, John Dee 9th, Joel Robertson won the money on the 13th and Kevin Sambrooks with his driver got closest on the 16th. Brian Gibson proudly won the pen and Michelle Dillon had the best stroke score with 76.

Sunday Golf 

The McClardyMcShaneClark day had a roll up of 60 golfers for the 4P Ambrose event. The stroke winners for the day was the team of Scott Harry, Laine Harry, David Knight and Brad Cummings with a score of 63. Handicap winners were Joel Robertson, Courtney Wright, Beau Bennett and Katelyn Wright with a score of 66 – 12.4 = 53.6 from Bruce and Peter Wright, Ash Meehan and Robert Whitelaw with 66 – 10.9 = 55.1. nearest the pins were Shane Dibsdale on the 3rd and 13th, Gary Thorne on the 5th and 9th and Luke Hadfield got it on the 16th.
