26th July Results
/Thursday Golf
A big day for the club with Coronavirus closing Barham and Murray Downs clubs to Victorians we had visitors from those clubs join our field to bring our numbers to over 30 players. Best on the day was actually a lady in Shirley Jenner (27) who had a ripping day to win with 41 pts, well done Shirl, those lessons Tony gave to Ned who then passed on to you really paid off. Those in the ball pool were Kevin Sambrooks (20) and Geoff Williams (18) both on 38, Gary Pay (16) 37, Ray Gannon (32), Graham Wyte (13), Tony Laughlin (10) and Greg Gin (15) all on 36 points. Nearest the pins, on the 3rd was Don Ross, 5th Chris Waterson, with a 5 wood so I’ve been told, 9th Tony Laughlin, 13th Michelle Dillon and the long 16th went to the big hitting Andrew Spitty. To all those wanting to play Thursday’s hit off is 12:45 so come along and join in the fun.
Saturday Golf
What a huge week on the course we had last week with 8 visitors boosting numbers on Thursday and almost 40 visitors from Swan Hill boosting our numbers to over 80 players on the course Saturday. It was great to see so many golfers here and we are only too keen to accommodate our neighbours, who can’t get to their course.
Winner of B Grade was Justin Condely (19) with 40 pts and R/up was Jim Apostolelis (20) 38. In the ball pool was Brad Short (23) 37, Wayne O’Neill (23) 35, Toby Gray (26) Geoff Williams (17), Eric Symons (23) all on 34 pts, Frank Cianci (22) 32 and Dave Conlan got the last ball on C/back from Dan Bolton (20, Nick Skipper (28) and Jordan Simpson (19) all with 31 pts.
The Ladies section was won by Carol Dear (24) who started early and made the most of the quiet course and with help from Deaniee’s tips came in with 41 pts, R/up was Jill Marshall (36) 40 and the ball pool was Jenny Waterson (22) who will have bragging rights in her house this week, on 38, Michelle Dillon (8) 35 and Deaniee Henderson (22) on 34 got the last ball on a C/back from Olive Spitty (5).
Mens A Grade winner was Blake Shay (12) on 39 pts and R/up was Joe Tartaglia (17) 37. Ball Pool players were Logan Keighran (3), Jim Clark (17), Greg Gin (15) and Terry Turvey (12) all on 36, Olly Rhode (3) and Roger Pay (14) on 35 and Mark Free (7) got the last ball. Nearest the pins were Olive Spitty on the 3rd, Blake Shay on the 5th, 9th was Roger Pay, Superpin 13th Meryl Cameron and Brent Halligan got it on the 16th. We are having a 4P Ambrose on Sunday so get your names into the Captain and we will hit off at 12:30.
