/Ladies Golf – Wednesday July 15th
Last week we were frozen, this week the weather gods looked down on us and provided a glorious day for 16 lady golfers.
Carol Dear thought she was back in Bali – she was so warm and relaxed she cleaned up the rest of the field with a sensational 39 points. Shirley Jenner bounced back from oblivion to be runner up with 37 points.
The two ball pool recipients were Jan Harry and Rosie Laughlin, both with a neat 35. Jan will be around to Chino’s for a coffee with her nearest the pin on the 9th and Joyce Boyd was ntp on 13. Newcomer to our club Cathy Brodie is sporting a shiny new pen.
We had the choir going again this week for our golfing friend Jill Marshall who turns a very special number on Friday. Happy Birthday Jill!
Hopefully, the magnificent weather will continue for next Wednesday! See you at 9.30 for 10am.

We had a big field of golfers for R & R Day with 31 in all taking on the cold conditions just to get out of the house and away from their domestic chores. The best score for the day come from the feathered one Phil Lloyd (9) who won with 39 pts, those lessons are really paying off Emu. In the ball pool was Jean Youl (29) on 38, Rob Fabry (20) and also Chris Waterson (5), back from his holiday, on 37 points, Gary Pay (16) and Andrew Spitty (+2) on 36 pts got the last two balls in the pool. Nearest the pins were Jean Youl 3rd, Joe Tartaglia 5th, Phil Lloyd 9th, Doug Meehan 13th and Casey Gillen got the hardest of our par 3’s the 16th. Andrew Spitty got the best stroke score with 69 off the stick, being one under after nine holes and with 3 more birdies on the back nine would have made his score look really good but unfortunately he also threw in two bogies to bring him back a little bit.

A reasonably coldish day greeted our golfer’s, but all must have finished their chores early because we had nearly 60 golfers play on this day and its always good to see so many players on the course. Men’s winner was Casey Gillen (21), showing Lindsay Hogg, who’s the best golfer from Lake Charm, with 38 pts and the R/up was Logan Keighran (3) 37. Ladies winner was the very much improved Katelyn Wright (32) with 43 pts, she won’t have that handicap for much longer, from Joyce Boyd (24) on 41. The others in the ball pool were Olive Spitty (7) 38, Joel Gray (20) 37, Gary Thorne (4), Kevin Sambrooks (20), Chris Gray (14) and Joe Tartaglia (17) all on 36 pts, Shane Dibsdale (9), Terry Turvey (12) and Blake Shay (12) all on 34. Nearest the pins were Katelyn Wright on the 3rd, Gary Thorne 5th, Brad Short 9th , Phil Lloyd got the money on the 13th and Greg Gin picked up the ball on the 16th. The pen for the day went to Paul Saunders and the best stroke score was Logan Keighran with 73. He started off well only having on bogie and eight par’s, on the front nine but alas he bogied 11 and 17 but a birdie on 14 helped him to a two over par total for the day. We also had 5 new golfers putting in cards for their handicap, which is great for the club, so soon we will be welcoming them into our fields.

Nearest the pins were Chris Waterson on the 5th, Logan Keighran on the 9th, Jordan Simpson 13th and no one landed on the 3rd or the 16th.
