26th March results

Ladies Golf March 22nd

The 10 payers found the course heavy going. We started in fog and finished with a rather warm day. However, Angela Morton was able to handle the conditions to win the stableford event with a score of 33 points. Runner up was Michelle Dillon with 32 points and Jan Harry was in the ball pool with 29 points. There were several contenders for the pen, but Chrissy Chamberlain had the honour. Jan Harry was nearest the pin on the 9th.

Next week’s assemble at 9am for a 9:30 hit off.

 Thursday R & R Stableford 23 March 2023

A small field for a Thursday but I suppose the wind kept people away, but it was no problem for Rob Fabry (20) who ended the day on 42 points to be a clear winner. R/up was Doug Meehan (7) on 37 and the last ball went to Wayne O’Neill (21) on 36. Nearest the pins went to Joe Tartaglia on the 3rd, Graham Wyte 5th & 9th, Brendan Shields 13th and Terry Turvey on the 16th. We also had a visitor, Robert Barker from Portarlington, joined us for the day.

Saturday Golf 25 March 2023

Again, a small field of golfers, probably saving themselves for the Par 3 day, and the winner on 39 pts on a c/b was Chris Waterson (4) with a very fine 72 off the stick from Barry Gladman (27). Chris had a bad start going par, bogie, bogie, bogie but birdies on 5,6,8 and 10 certainly made up for his bad holes. Ladies’ winner, also with 39 pts, was our youngest golfer Mabel Spitty (19) who had her best score off the stick of 86. The ball pool for the day was Barry Gladman 39, Jenny Waterson (15), Gavin Teasdale (10), Michelle Dillon (9) and Jan Harry (11) all those players on 35 pts and Chris Gray got the last ball on c/b from Olive Spitty (0), Allan Free (19) and David Gray (14) all them being on 34. Nearest the pins were Olive Spitty 3rd, Chris Waterson 5th, Jason Williams 9th, Blake Shay with a near hole in one got the money on the 13th and Peter Sharp a visitor from Stawell got the 16th.

Sunday Par 3 Day

Our Par 3 day again was a good day, numbers were down a little but everyone enjoyed the day and those that got a nearest the pin obviously went home with a smile on their face and $100 prize in their pocket. Mens stroke winner for the day was Andrew Spitty with a 2 over 56 off the stick and the Ladies winner was Kerrie James from Barham with 60 off the stick. Handicap winners were Cody Tuohey with 71 – 29 = 42 nett and the Ladies was for the second year in a row Karyl Hewitt 76 – 39 = 37. The team with the best nett score of 190 was made up of Joyce Boyd, Geraldine Kennedy, Nola Robinson and Wayne Mildred.
