skill. In the golfers section Red Manners had the best round of nett 31.5 to win from Brady

Gillingham on 32.5 and Joel Robertson with nett 36. Of the non golfers Andrew Lindsay came out on

top with a nett score of 36. In the novelty section we had nearest the pin winners on the 3 rd was

Logan Keighran and the 9 th Brady Gillingham, superpin was won by Joe Tartaglia. Longest drive to

Andrew Lindsay nearest the line Curly Doyle and nearest the tyre second shot Brad Short. Twilight

golf is on Tuesday’s for anyone, golfers or non golfers, tee off time is after 4:oopm with a BBQ on

after the game.

Thursday Golf

Again another windy day greeted our golfers the only difference being that it was also over 40 degrees for the R & R Day, so it kept a lot of golfers at home under the air conditioners. Mark

Henderson (34) who is getting right back into golf faired the best to win the day with 36 pts which included 5 misses so who knows what he could’ve had. In the ball pool was Casey Gillen (22) having his last round of golf for a while before having another reconstruction surgery, 33 pts. Unfortunately no one got on the greens on the par 3’s .

Saturday Golf

Surprisingly enough this golf day didn’t have to much wind to annoy the golfers. Gavin Teasdale (13) had quite a mixed day of 2 birdies, 1 double bogie, 1 miss, 4 bogies and the rest pars to win the day with 43 pts from Chris Gray (17) on 42 pts who were well in front of the rest of the field.

The best stroke score for the day went to Gavin Teasdale with 78 off the beater. The all important Pen, went to Blake Shay who was obviously overawed watching Gavin having he’s blinder of a round.

Nearest the pins were on the 3rd Terry Turvey, 5th Max Wilson, 9th Blake Shay, Superpin 13th Terry Turvey and the 16th was Jen Waterson. We also had an eagle on the 11th by Blake Shay so the day was not all bad for him. In the ball pool we have Chris Gray 42, Logan Keighran (11) 39, Col Wilkie (15) 38, Greg McNeil (24) and Doug Ellwood (23) on 37 and Jim Apostolelis on 36 pts. In the Womens Jen Waterson (25) bought her A grade game to win with 36 pts from a distant Lorraine Bray (26) on 32 pts.

Laughie 4Ball Sunday

The day we dedicate to probably the finest golfer to ever come from Kerang, Ian Laughlin, we had 20 pairs to compete for the prizes on offer from the days sponsor Graham Wyte. At the end of the day Scott Harry (17) and David Knight (18) had a day everyone else would wish they didn’t to come in with 48 pts to win the day from 2 other pairs on 45 pts. Runners up went to Phil Lloyd (9), Peter Jones (15) on a count back from David Conlan (22) & Peter Wilson (16).

The ladies was won by Jean Youl (27) and Rhonda Willoughby (21) on 38 and runners up Meryl Cameron (15) & Joyce Boyd (21) 1 point behind on 37. Our most popular award was won by Jarrad Walker (12) and Red Manners (9) on 36.

Nearest the pins went to James Meehan 3rd , Gavin Teasdale 5th , Red Manners 9th , 13th Superpin to Gary Thorne and 16th to David Doolan.

Longest Drive was David Knight and nearest to the line was the ever accurate Gary Thorne.

Coming Events

On December 8th we have the McLardyMcShaneClark 4 Person Ambrose day, so get your

teams together for this event as ambroses are always fun days. Towards the end of the month we

also have our very popular Max & Gav Day, so please support these days.

So until next week when hopefully the wind will stop blowing and we can really enjoy our golf and I’ll see you then.

Ladies Golf – Wednesday November 27

Kerang’s latest golf sensation, Jenny Waterson, blitzed the course today with a spectacular 40pts following up Saturday’s magnificent victory. Her highlight was an incredible sand wedge into the 8th for a birdie which left spectators speechless… well not really – there was actually quite a commotion! Meryl Cameron also shone on course today with 37pts, followed by Michelle Dillon in the ball pool with 35.

Rhonda Willoughby smacked a sensational shot on the 3rd to win June’s ball and Marg Learmonth snavelled the coffee voucher on 9. The pressure of the office proved too distracting for Joyce Boyd who took home the pen.

Next week will be the same time – 8.30 for 9. Apparently, a lovely time to be out and about???  :)
