Anzac Day Golf

A successful day of golf and bowls raised over $2000 dollars for the RSL, so a big thank you to all who played. We welcomed visitors from Lalbert, Lakeside, Charlton, Berriwillock and Murray Downs. In the golf a late starter in Brad Short (14) mastered the day and won with 40 points and the winner of the Ladies was Jenny Waterson (15) 39, runner ups were Terry Turvey (15) 39 and in the Ladies, it was Olive Spitty (1) with 37. Nearest the pins were Brad Short 3rd, Ken Williams 5th, Shane Dibsdale 9th, Ian Urquhart 13th and Michelle Dillon on the 16th. Special mentions must go to Andrew Spitty and his daughter Olive, who both equalled their respective course records of 66 and 71 and Ronny Schultze accepted the pen with a smile on his face.

Thursday Golf

A small field on a wet day and Blake Shay (9) took a wet day off from the farm to win the day with 36 points, R/up was Casey Gillen (21) with 34 and Spud McKerrow (27) got into the ball pool with 33 pts. Nearest the pins were Tony Laughlin 3rd, Blake Shay 5th, Terry Turvey 9th, no one got onto the 13th and Ian Urquhart was the best on the 16th.

Saturday Golf

Again, another small field and David Wood (10) found some form to win with 37 pts, another golfer out of form of late Scott Harry (12) was R/Up. Ladies’ winner, again someone who hasn’t been playing well of late, Jan Harry (13) on 34. Ball pool was Chris Waterson (5) and Terry Turvey (15) both on 35 and Tony Laughlin (9) 34, interesting fact was that all those four male golfers played in the same group and worked in the office, might be something shifty going on there, I think. Nearest the pins were Don Ross 3rd, no one on the 5th, Ross Nesbit 9th and 13th and Robert Gridley  16th and Doug Ellwood was excited to win the pen.
