6th December Results — Kerang Golf and Bowls

Ladies Golf 1 November 2021

It was monthly medal time again. Ten ladies braved the heat to play the stroke round. At the end of the day the cart ladies looked a lot healthier than those who had walked!

Winner of the day was Jill Marshall with 72 net. Joyce Boyd was close behind with 73 net. In the ball pool were Jenny Waterson and Michelle Dillon. Shirley Jenner accepted a new pen to help with her secretarial duties.

Jenny had the least number of putts and Michelle was nearest the pin on the 9th.

Our captain will keep an eye on the weather for next week and give us a suitable start time.

Thursday R & R Stableford 2 November 2021

22 players started the day, with great weather and almost no wind to contend with this week. So, I wonder why the scores were so low? The day’s winner was Phil Lloyd with 34 points. We had visitors from Murray Downs and Berriwillock.

Saturday Monthly Medal 4 November 2021

Monthly Medal today and Luke Hadfield (15) who is on the cusp of greatness took his first step towards that by winning the day with a 68 nett. Second place went to the fast improving, Gary Pay (16) on c/b from the luckless Scott Harry (13) both on nett 70. In the Ladies, Deaniee Henderson (23) had success beating Shirley Jenner (21) on c/b with both players on 71 nett. The ball pool was Gary Pay, Scott Harry, Shirley Jenner, Ken Williams (19) and Peter Hall (13) all 71 nett. Nearest the pins were Olive Spitty 3rd, Max Wilson 5th, Joe Tartaglia 9th, Gary Pay (again) got the money on the 13th and Jack Hewitt on the 16th. Jen Waterson won the pen only just beating her husband for this award and Andrew Spitty once again had a sub-par round of 69, to have the best stroke score for the day.

Sunday Laughie 4 Ball 5 November 2021

Our Annual Laughie 4 Bal,l in honour of Ian Laughlin, was held and won for the first time by a team of Ladies in Deaniee Henderson and Bronwyn Good with a score of 47 points and second place was Chrissy Downs and Jen Waterson on 45pts. Leader of the Men’s was appropriately a team of Laughlins in Tony and his son Ben with43 pts. Runners-Up were Ken Williams and Kevin Sambrooks on 42 pts on c/b from Michelle Dillon and Shirley Jenner. Sharp shooters on the greens were Phil Lloyd 3rd, Michelle Dillon 5th, Doug Meehan 9th, Shirley Jenner 13th and Ben Laughlin 16th.
