In very windy conditions on Thursday we had 24 pairs just trying to keep their golf balls on the course not just on the fairway they were playing. Jarrod Walker and Lachy Gillies did that the best when they came in with a very good score of 44 points along with Rhonda Willoughby and Ruth McAlister (Lakeside) who won the womens section with 44 points as well. Second place went to Gary Pay/ Phil Lloyd 43 and Chris Gray/Chris Waterson 42 won on a count back from Kevin Sambrooks/Ken Williams combination also 42 points. Nearest the pins for today were Don Ross on the 3rd, Graham Wyte on the 5th, 9th Shane Dibsdale 13th Phil Lloyd and the 16th to Chris Waterson

Pat McKnight Memorial Kerang Open Saturday

At our Pat McKnight Memorial Kerang Open on Saturday it was played in the same if not worse conditions than we had on Thursday. Andrew Spitty (0) played the best golf in the hurricane winds to come in with a fine 3 over the card 75 to win he’s 3rd in a row and 5th overall Pat McKnight trophy. Six shots behind him was Gary Thorne (6) on 81. A Grade handicap winner was Don Ross(11) with a nett 71 and B Grade winner was Joe Tartaglia(17) with a nett 67. The Ladies event was won by Michelle Dillon(9) with 83 off the stick and the winner in the handicap was Olive Spitty(11) with a nett 74. Nearest the pins were Les Brennan from Barham on the 3rd, Michelle Dillon on the 5th, Gary Napier from Barham on the 9th, Don Ross 13th and Ross Nesbit got the prize on the 16th.

Sunday 3Person Ambrose

The last day of our annual tournament and finally the wind had stopped blowing for us all to have an enjoyable day on the greens. With over 50 golfers setting off on a brilliant day including 3 teams from Lalbert 2 of them took out 1st and 2nd place. First placed team with a score of 68 -11.3 = 56.7 nett was David Doolan,Jess Worner and Danny Shepherd who just snuck home from Peter Harley, Doug Meehan and Scott Worner with a score of 68 – 9.3 = 58.7 and they were .1 point in front of 3rd placed Dave Gray,Gav Teasdale and Chris Gray with 67 – 8.2 = 58.8 nett. Nearest the pins were again on the 3rd Don Ross, 5th Chris Gray, 9th James Meehan 13th Kevin Sambrooks and the 16th Joe Tartaglia. The $100 prize for nearest the pin on the 13th over the whole tournament was Phil Lloyd with 1.93m on the first day.
