Tuesday Twilight

On what’s been the best weather for twilight golf that we’ve had for a while, mainly our regulars turned up to try their skills on the course on the back nine. For the golfers Red Manners had a great night with everything except an eagle to win the golfers section with a one under 35-3 =32 nett, second was Shane Hall with 45-12=33 then Michelle Dillon 40-4=36and Joe Tartaglia 44-8=36. In the nongolfers section winner was Jack Danckert 55-18=37 followed by Jessie Tilburn 43-5=38and Tim Robinson 60-22=38. Nearest the pin on 13 was Terry Turvey no one got on the 16th,longest drive Red Manners, nearest the line went to Justin Robinson and no one claimed the nearest the tyre second shot on 14th.

Thursday golf

A small field battled the stifling hot weather but none handled it as well as Red Manners (6) who won with 40 points on a count back from Col Wilkie (13). Third place went to Tony Laughlin (9) on 38 and Joe Tartaglia (15) on 36. Nearest the pins were on the 3rd Ron Schultze, 5th Don Ross, 9thRed Manners, 13th Ron Schultze again and no one landed on the 16th.

Saturday Golf

On a day where we had all kinds of weather our captain Scott Harry (14) mastered them all to edge out Chris Waterson (7) to win with 68 nett and claim the February Monthly Medal. Scott had a mix of birdies, bogies , one double bogie and pars to have his best round for quite a while. Ladies winner was won by Deaniee Henderson (27) who conitually keeps improving, with 72 nett on a count back from Michelle Dillon (9). The nearest the pin winners were on the 3rdGav Teasdale, 5th Doug Meehan, 9th Scott Harry, 13th superpin Andrew Spitty and the 16th again Doug Meehan. The ballpool winners were Chris Waterson 69 net, Doug Meehan (5) 71 net, Chris Gray (15) 72 net and Andrew Spitty (0) and Peter Jones (14) both on 73 net. The best stroke score was Andrew Spitty with 73 and Shirley Jenner gladly accepted the pen prize for her exceptional round of golf.

News

Summer Pennant starts Sunday at Cohuna so good luck to those that made the team and in Premier league golf this week and the final is between perennial winners Hogan’s Heroes who beat the Thorne Birds last week and The Captains who just got over the line against Birdies and Beers by one point so best of luck to those two teams.

Ladies Results

Very good weather greeted 9 ladies this morning. The monthly Medal winner was Michelle Dillon with 80-8=72. From Jan Harry with 86-13=73, Jenny Waterson with 94-21=73 and Marg Learmonth with 96-22=74.

Chino’s & June’s NTP’s went to Michelle Dillon. The Pen Award went to Mel Wishart and a welcome back to Mel.

A warm welcome to our new member, Geraldine Kennedy. Also a few ladies from Lakeside joined in today.
