Thursday Golf
Another fine day for golf and another good crowd of golfers played in our R & R Day. Geoff Guy (25) had another win to bring he’s handicap down a little bit further and win the day with 37 points. In second spot was a visitor from Gisborne Richard Baird (21) on 35 points and the rest in the ball pool were Rob Fabry (20) 35, Chris Gray (11) 35 and Trevor Kennedy (12), our newest member, on 34.
The highlight of the day was on the 6 th where Col Wilkie had an eagle to win the balls in the eagles nest and the nearest the pin winners were on the 3 rd Don Ross, 5 th all the way back from over seas Old John Murphy, 9 th Gary Thorne, 13 th Ronny Schultze and on the 16 th was Trevor Kennedy. Thursday golf is open to anyone and tee off time is 12:45.
Saturday Golf
For the second week in a row the winners of the day winning the Greenwood Mugge and the Ladies Goblet were Scott Harry (13) and Deaniee Henderson (26) who both scored 38 points so all members keep clear of these two for the rest of the month. In the ladies Shirley Jenner (26) was in second place with 34 and the in the men it was Gary Thorne (5) 37 and the ball pool was Chris Waterson (6), Shane Dibsdale (9) and Dave Gray (16) all on 37, Tony Laughlin (9), Don Ross (6) and Blake Shay (12) all on 35 points.
Nearest the pin winners were Dave Gray on the 3 rd , Bruce Wright on the 5 th , 9 th Blake
Shay, Superpin 13 th Wayne Hall and the 16 th was Jarrad Walker.
The final of the Premier League was won again by Hogans Heroes who beat The Captains by the barest of margins 142 points to 141.
Twilight Golf
A small field of golfers enjoyed a nice night of golf before twilight finishes at the end of the month. Andrew Lindsay won the non golfers section with a score of 51-13.5=37.5 and the golfers was Rob Fabry with a great score of 42-10=32 and second was Joe Tartaglia with 42-8=34.
Nearest the pins went to Olive Spitty on 3 rd , Paul Robinson from Cohuna on the 5 th and also the 9 th and he also won the longest drive on the 6 th. Joel Gray won it on the 8 th, Michelle Dillon won nearest the line on the 4 th and Joe Tartaglia got nearest the tyre second shot on the 1 st .
Twilight Golf is open to anyone on Tuesday nights and tee off is between 4pm and 6pm.
Summer Pennant started last Sunday at Cohuna and we came up against Lalbert and we beat them 3/0 well done to the team of Chris Waterson, Col Wilkie, Scott Harry, Logan Keighran, Don Ross and Phil Lloyd. This week we travel to Barham to take on Lakeside so good luck to the team selected.
This weekend 27 of our golfers are off to Cobram/Barooga GC to enjoy a weekend away.
The time sheet for Saturdays now hangs up in the club house so drop in any time during the day to put your name down or ring after 5pm.
Ladies Golf
What a great day for golf. We had 10 ladies play, with visitors from SGA Golf Club (Mandy Richmond) and Lakeside Golf Club. Mandy Ackland (26) winning the chino’s voucher with 39 pts. Runner up Michelle Dillon (8) 36 pts on a countback from Sue Notting (25) 36pts, Nola Robinson (34) 33pts.
