Ladies Golf – Wednesday May 5th

It was a chilly and breezy morning for 11 golfers who competed for the monthly medal this week. It was great to see Ange, Megan and Chrissy back on the course and playing well.

Jill Marshall had a stellar day with 101 (33) 68 to claim the much-coveted monthly medal t-shirt. Chrissy Downs was runner up with 72 net. Ball pool recipients were Nola Robinson with 75 net and Megan Taylor with 77 net. Nearest the pin on Chino’s 9th hole was Chrissy who finished it off with a birdie. Nola won the putting comp with 27.

Don’t forget that the Gold Watch day is coming up on Friday May 28th so grab a partner and get your entries in!

See you next Wednesday at 9 for 9.30!

Thursday Golf

Our rich & retired golfers enjoyed another fine day on the course which made for some fine scores coming in. Winner of the days event was Rob Fabry (19) with a very fine 39 points. Runner up on count back was former club champion Chris Waterson (4) 38 from Spud McKerrow (27) 38 also. The others in the ball pool were the consistent Old John Murphy (22) and Poddy Free (18) both on 37 and Phil Lloyd (11) missed out on count back from those two. Nearest the pins were Ross Nesbit 3rd, Doug Meehan 5th, Chris Waterson on the 9th and 13th and Gary Thorne on the 16th. I did note it was all the young fellas that got ntp’s, but none of them, made their birdies so I think a bit of practice is needed on the greens for those blokes. Those who want to play Thursdays tee off time is 12:45 so come and join in, these blokes may be old, but they are not grumpy.

Saturday Golf

Another outstanding day of weather for golf bought out a good field of people to enjoy the course. Our former Secretary, Graham Wyte, had (12) his best day for quite a while winning the Greenwood Mugge, with a very good score of 40 points. He started off well by parring the first 3 holes but a stumble on the 4th and 5th could have put him off, but he knuckled down with consistent golf for the rest of the afternoon and went on to win the Mugge. The Ladies winner was Carol Dear (24) on count back from two others Michelle Dillon (8) and Rhonda Willoughby (24) all on 37 points. The other ball winners were Jean Youl (22) and David Wood (11) both on 36 and Allan Free (17) got the last ball on c/b from Gary Thorne (3) and Don Ross (8) all on 35. Nearest the pins went to Graham Wyte on the 3rd and 13th, Terry Turvey 5th, Ross Nesbit 9th and Phil Lloyd the 16th. Jan Harry happily accepted her pen award and Michelle Dillon had the best stroke score of the day with 78 off the stick so well done to her.

Coming up there is pennant in Balranald on Sunday so best of luck to the Kerang team there and the Golconda 4P Ambrose is on the 23rd of May which is always a popular day so get your teams in for that and remember go to the bookatee web site to book in for all our competition days.
