11th March results

Thursday Golf

Due to a bit of inclement weather and the fact our R & R golfers are not good on a wet track we only had a small field last week. Again, it was that young fella Chris Waterson (5) bullying the older members out of the way to win with 36 pts. In the ball pool were Geoff Williams (17) 35 pts, Fred O’Bryan (27) and Ron Thouliss (17), both visitors from Lakeside and Berri-Willock, both on 34 pts.

Nearest the [ins were on the 3 rd Chris Waterson, 5 th Tony Laughlin, 9 th John Simpson (visitor from Kalgoorlie), 13 th Geoff Williams and the 16 th went to Joe Tartaglia. Thursday golf is open to all golfers and assembly is 12;15 at the clubhouse.

Saturday Golf

A good field of golfers on a great day for golf came out to play for the Monthly Medal. The winner this month was Jack Hewitt (13) with a nett 70. Winner of the women’s on 72 nett was Joyce Boyd (23) who scraped in by one stroke nett from Michelle Dillon (8) on 73. 

In the ball pool was Shane Dibsdale (8) and Peter Hall (12) on 71 nett, Red Manners (6), Gary Hayes (16), Terry Turvey (11) all on 72 nett, Chris Bland (23), Blake Shay (13) and Michelle Dillon (8) all on 73 nett. 

Nearest the pins went on the 3 rd Shane Dibsdale, 5 th Chris Waterson, 9 th Blake Shay, Tony Laughlin got the money on the 13 th and James Meehan won the ball on the 16 th . Our visitor from W.A. must really like the pen he won Thursday because he won it again on Saturday and the best stroke score went to Gary Thorne with 77 off the stick.

The IGA 4P Ambrose has been postponed until later in the year.

On the weekend we hosted the last day of Triple Golfanza and congratulations go to Deaniee Henderson who had 42 pts to win the day and to surge to the front and win the ladies C Grade of the 54 hole event. 

Winter Pennant begins in April and we still need more names so put your name on the sheet or let Captain Scott know you want to play. Don’t forget there are on a couple of nights of Twilight left so put aside what ever you do on Tuesdays and come play golf.

Ladies Golf

8 ladies took to the field on Wednesday, on a lovely day for golf. The winner was Michelle Dillon, no other scores are available at this time.

Congratulations to Joyce Boyd, Jenny Waterson, Jan Harry and Mel Wishart, on winning the Murray Downs Open Day.
