Thursday Golf
The R & R golfers turned up on another fine day for golf with Joe Tartaglia (15) making the most of the good weather to come away with the win with 36 pts. Runner up was Gary Thorne (4) and in the ball pool Geoff Guy (24) and Kevin Sambrooks (19) all those players were on 35 pts. Nearest the pin winners were on the 3 rd Don Ross, 5 th Tony Laughlin, 9 th Terry Turvey, 13 th Doug Ellwood who got the putt for a birdie and on the 16 th Col Wilkie. Thursday golf is open to all golfers with a current handicap, assembly is at 12:15 and tee off is 12:45 for a shot gun start.
Saturday Golf
Another magnificent day for golf I thought and judging by the turn out so did a lot of others with a good crowd of 40 golfers playing. Ladies winner for the third time in the last 5 weeks was Deanie Henderson (24) with 37 pts and runner up was Michelle Dillon (8) on 34.
Mens winner also on 37pts was Ron Schultze (24) on a countback from 3 others. In the ball pool was Phil Lloyd (9), Peter Hall (13) and Geoff Williams (17) all on 37 pts, Chris Waterson (5) 36, Laine Harry (4) and Gary Hayes (16) on 35 and Michelle Dillon (8) and Roger Pay (13) both on 34 pts. The nearest the pin winners, on the 3 rd Geoff Guy, 5 th Chris Waterson, 9 th Gary Thorne the Superpin 13 th Dave Gray and the 16 th was Chris Waterson. The best stroke score of the day went to two players Chris Waterson and from Neanger Park, Laine Harry and Scott Worner from Lalbert picked up the pen for his round.
Twilight golf
A bigger than usual crowd played golf on Tuesday and in the non golfers section the winner was Justin Robinson with a 48-13=35 from Matt Ferguson who had 48-12.5=35.5 and for the golfers, the winner was Olive Spitty 39-4.5=34.5 in a narrow win from Shirley Jenner 48-13=35. Nearest the pins
on 13 th and 16 th was Olive Spitty, longest drive Michelle Dillon, nearest the line Rob Stevenson and nearest the tyre with their second shot was Michelle Dillon. Twilight finishes at the end of the month. So come out for a hit while the sun is still up.
Up coming events
We have our par 3 day on March 15th so get your names in early, on the 28th we have the IGA 4p Ambrose day and this is open to anyone and next month we have Golconda’s 4p Ambrose day.
Winter pennant starts at the end of the month so put your name on the board at the club house we want to enter 2 teams so we need at least 14 players.
There was no ladies competition this week due to some rain, heavenly rain.
