15th March results
/Ladies Golf – Wednesday March 10th
The course and the weather provided a magic day for golf this week. Ten ladies played a stableford round with Jenny Waterson proving the best of the field with 35 points and treating her playing group to an amazing display of approach shots. Carol Dear played a steady round to card 33 points and Meryl Cameron completed the ball pool with 32.
The Chino’s Nearest the Pin on the 9th also went to Jenny Waterson.

Twilight Golf
Our last night of Twilight saw a good field of golfers play in good conditions to win the prizes on offer. Winner for the night was Poddy Free with a 44 – 9.5 = 34.5 and not even the captain fainting could put him off his great game. Runner up was Ron Schultze 46 – 11 = 35, then Chrissy Downs on 51 – 15.5 = 35.5. Nearest the pins went to Poddy Free on the 13th and no one got the money on the 16th. The major winners for the season were, Hamish Downs who won the $150 voucher. Nearest the pin winners for the season were Joel Gray on the 3rd, who got 7 thongs from the hole, Logan Keighran 5th, 6.3m away, Chris Manners 1.97m away from the 9th, Joel Gray again on the 13th at .865m and Brad Short got the 16th at 0.9m. A big thanks to all who played and to Ned Pay for running the comp this year.
Thursday Golf
Our Rich and Retired golfers had a nice day of golf and the winner was Doug Ellwood (21) with 40 points. In the ball pool was Tony Laughlin (9) and Wayne O’Niell (24) both on 37, and John Murphy (24) got the last ball on 35 on a c/b from Gary Thorne (4) and Graham Wyte (12). Nearest the pins were Andrew Spitty on the 3rd and 16th, no one on the 5th, Terry Turvey 9th and Rob Fabry on the 13th and Casey Gillen gleefully accepted his pen.
Saturday Golf
Well, something that I’m sure will happen more often in the future happened today, when young Mabel Spitty (48) won her first Saturday comp for the Ladies with 39 points, not bad for a 6 year old and I’M sure there are plenty more wins to come. Men’s winner was Peter Jones (17) 39 and in the ball pool was Logan Keighran (4) 38, Jim Apostolelis (19) and Jen Waterson (18) 37 each, Maurice Meehan (13) and Kevin Sambrooks (15) both on 36 got the last 2 balls. Michelle Dillon got NTP on the 3rd, Doug Meehan 5th, Kevin Sambrooks 9th, Chris Waterson won the money on the 13th and Danny Shepherd got the 16th.
Sunday golf
Our par 3 day was again a great success with around 100 golfers vying for the $100 prize on offer at each hole. Men’s and Ladies Scratch winners were Gary Thorne (4) and Michelle Dillon (7) with 59 and 62 off the stick. Handicap winners were Shane Hall and Shirley Jenner both with 44 nett. Unfortunately, no one got the money on the 13th but closest the hole winners were Laine Harry 1st, Ross Nesbit 2nd, Blake Shay 3rd, Joe Tartaglia 4th, Roger Pay 5th, Alan Free 6th, Meryl Cameron 7th, Scott Worner 8th, Ash Kuiper 9th, Peter Wilson 10th, Trent Hawkins 11th, Logan Keighran 12th, Beau Bennett 13th, Jim Beard 14th, Daniel Wilkie 15th, Don Ross 16th, Cody Tuohey 17th and Jenny Waterson on the 18th.
