/Thursday Golf
Cold weather is starting to set in, so numbers are starting to go down, but still a good field of R & R golfers turned up to play. The best of the day of the old fellas was our President Terry Turvey (14) winning with 40 points. Nearest the pins were Joe Tartaglia on the 3rd, 5th Ron Thoulliss, from Berri/Willock, Greg Gin 9th, Simon Shanks 13th and no one could find the green on then 16th. Those in the ball pool were John Murphy (24) 39, Graham Wyte (13) and Jean Youl (24) on 37and Wayne O’Niell (24) with 36 points.
Saturday Golf
Well footy has definitely started judging by the number of players we had on Saturday. We obviously still had quality and best of all was Poddy Free (20) with 38 points. Ladies winner again and this is becoming a regular was Mabel Spitty (46), the little eight year old had 38 points to win the ladies section of golf and I think this is her 3rd win in as many rounds, well done Mabel. Nearest the pins went to Michelle Dillon on the 3rd, Doug Meehan 5th, Poddy Free 9th, Ross Nesbit won the money on the 13th and Bronwyn Good the 16th. Ball pool was Jean Youl (24) 37, Greg Gin (15) 34, Ron Schultze (22) 33 and Red Manners (6) and Tony Laughlin (9) on 32 won their balls on c/b from Doug Meehan (6), Jill Marshall (33) and Ross Nesbit (12) all on the same score
Sunday Golf
We played pennant at Lakeside Sunday unfortunately we didn’t bring home the bacon going down 2/1 but they were close games so thanks to Scott, Red, Luke Hadfield, Brendan Shields, Logan Keighran and Jim Apostolelis for making up the team, we don’t play again til May 2nd but we still need names so please those wishing to play pennant get your names to Scott. Don’t forget our Golconda day, a 4P Ambrose on May 16th so get your teams in for this. Happy golfing and see you all Saturday on the course.
We had 12 ladies play stableford on Wednesday, Jan Harry (14) was the run away winner with 39pts from Rosie Laughin (35) 31pts on a countback from Meryl Cameron (14) 31pts, Joyce Boyd (24) 30pts has a new ball to take to Horsham for the autumn tournament with Jenny Waterson, Jan Harry, Meryl Cameron & Jean Youl good luck ladies, congratulations to our little star Olive Spitty on winner the Australian junior age division under 12, next week maybe par cheers your captain
