/Ladies Golf – Wednesday December 16th
Conditions were hot and so was Chrissy Downs’ form at ladies golf this week. She blitzed the field to win the stableford comp with a neat 36 points. Runner up with 32 points was Rhonda Willoughby who continues to show up the younger players with her ever consistent game. Meryl Cameron claimed a ball on a countback from Geraldine Kennedy with 31 points.
Shirley Jenner produced an extraordinary boomerang shot to claim the Chino’s voucher on the 9th.
Christmas will be close but there will be ladies golf next Wednesday. See you there!
Twilight Golf
What a week for the drug testers at the Kerang Golf Club, last Saturday it was Ron Schultze needing to be tested and this week it his step son Mark Henderson coming in with a blinder by having 43 – 17 = 26 I wonder what Deaniee has been putting in their food. In the ball pool was Joel Gray 44 – 12 = 32, Brad Short (keeping up his good form) 40 – 6.5 = 33.5 and Alan Free 44 – 9.5 = 34.5 and the nearest the pins went to Joel Gray on the 9th, Jayden Dignan 3rd and Logan Keighran got the money on the 5th.
Thursday Golf
Well, well, well, Mark Henderson (34) kept up his good form from Tuesday to win Thursday golf with a very handy 41 points. Second place on count back was Casey Gillen (21) on 37pts from Don Ross (9) also 37pts and Gary Pay (16) 36 made up the ball pool. Those that played the par 3’s the best were, well actually no one on the 3rd, Chris Waterson on the 5th (although he did 3 putt), Don Ross on the 9th and 16 th and Casey Gillen got the 13th.There will be no competition golf played next Thursday as it’s Xmas Eve.
Saturday Golf
Again we played golf in the wind which it always seems to do when there’s a golf game on and Peter Hall (14) handled it the best to end up with 40 points to win by one from Chris Waterson (4) and Rob Stevenson (30) both on 39. Ladies winner was Jean Youl (25) with 36 pts from Jo Martin (24) on 35.
The ball pool was Chris Waterson, Rob Stevenson, Gavin Teasdale (13) and Greg McNeil (20) 37, Tony Laughlin (9) and Ross Nesbit (13) 36, Ron Schultze (20), Gary Pay (16) on 35 got it on c/b from Jo Martin, Jim Clark (15), Andrew Spitty (+2) and Luke Hadfield all on 35. Nearest the pins were Col Wilkie on the 3rd, 5th Olive Spitty, 9th Alan Free, 13th and the money went to Bob McKnight and the 16th was Peter Hall.
Last weekend Olive Spitty went down to Barwon Heads to play in the Victorian Junior Open and came away winning the under 14 section by 16 shots and came
13th over all which included the under 18’s this is a huge achievement considering Olive is still only 11 years of age and as we all know at the golf club that Olive has a very bright future in front of her if she chooses to go down this path and all of us here at the club hopes that she does.
The Max & Gav Day is on the Sunday 27th December and is open to golfers and non golfers with plenty of prizes on offer and we are playing individual stableford. Entries to Scott Harry – scott@visualappeal.com.au OR keranggolf@westnet.com.au OR use the online booking service Bookatee.com.au
