/Thursday Golf
Our Thursday golfers keep turning up in good numbers to enjoy there golf in their latter years and probably the fittest of them all, Tony Laughlin (11) is still capable of shooting low numbers to take out the day with 41 pts. He started of ordinary being 3 over after 2 but parred the rest of the front nine and except for a couple of hiccups on the back nine could very well shot his age or better, well done AJ. Runner up was Joe Tartaglia (17) on 39 and the rest of the ball pool was Ron Schultze (25) 37, John Murphy (24) and Doug Ellwood (23) both on 36 pts. Nearest the pins on the par 3’s were Simon Shanks on the 3rd, 5th was Ro Fabry, 9th Col Wilkie, 13th Greg Gin and no one got on the 16th. Remember Thursday golf is open to all and assembly is 12:15.

The youngest team in the field being Jason and Corey Williams, Riley Keighran and Jye Harry won the mighty pen award and the ladies from Koondrook/Barham took out the best dressed team award all coming in their Koondrook/Barham colours.
Saturday Golf
Because of the inclement weather and the fact that it was Grand Final day only a handful of golfers turned up so we didn’t hold a comp but the brave 7 went out and had a hit anyway to get some practise for the second round of championships this Saturday. The tee draw will be in the clubhouse this week for anyone who wants to peruse it. Good luck to all golfers this Saturday and if you cant make it please let the captain now so changes can be made.
Ladies Golf – Wednesday October 21st
There was a bit going on at Ladies Golf this week with the first round of club championships coinciding with the Medallist of the Year. We had 21 players today and it was hard to find excuses for poor golf with the sun shining and the breeze at a minimum. Shirley Jenner was set to blame poor golf on her close encounter with a snake on the first fairway, but he must have got her adrenaline pumping as she was the winner of the day with Net 67. Michelle Dillon was runner up with a handy 68 net followed by the ball pool of Jan Harry – 69, Rhonda Willoughby – 70, Meryl Cameron – 71, Deaniee Henderson – 73 and Ange Morton with 73. Olive Spitty won the Chino's Nearest the pin on the 9th and Michelle Dillon was putter of the day with 26 putts.
The Club Championships are being hotly contested in all 3 grades after today’s stroke round. Standings at present are: A grade – Michelle Dillon (8) 76, Olive Spitty (4) 80, Jan Harry (16) 85. B grade – Shirley Jenner (25) 92, Jenny Waterson (19) 93, Rhonda Willoughby (24) 94. C grade – Lorraine Bray (29) 104, Chrissy Downs (30) 105, Jill Marshall (31) 107.
All our monthly medallists were easy to spot as they donned their coveted psychedelic t-shirts. All except Meryl… she blames her missing attire on a ‘seniors moment’!!! The medallist of the year is kindly sponsored by the Brown family in memory of the much-loved Alma Brown, a previous Club Champion. The winner this year was our capable and convivial Club Captain, Michelle Dillon with her fabulous round of 76.
See you next week at 9.30 for 10am.
