22nd January results
/Twilight Twilight this week saw our biggest field for a while which is good to see members and non members enjoying the course. Twilight is a good introduction for anyone wanting to try golf or just a fun couple of hours after work on Tuesdays. This weeks result we saw J Moss win with a nett 39.5 on a countback from Kayle Kirby also 39.5. in the golfers section Chris Gray continued his good form from Saturday to win with 31 nett from Shirley Jenner on nett 32 and one of our newer golfers Chris Bland on 34 nett. Nearest the pin on 13th was Deaniee Henderson and the superpin went to Terry Turvey on the 16th. Longest drive went to Lachy Gillies and nearest the line was won by Wayne O’NIell. Twilight is on Tuesday nights and hit off is from 4 til 6 pm and cost is $6 for members and $8 for non members for nine holes. Thursday golf Another good field of our R & R golfers enjoyed another fine day of golf but were all out done by our newest 50 year old golfer in Chris Waterson (10) with 43 pts. Chris started brilliantly with a birdie on one then another on 4 to finish the front nine 2 under the card. Unfortunately he’s back nine had 3 bogies and one double to ruin what could have been a remarkable day. In the ball pool was Gary Thorne (8) on 40 Maurice Meehan (17) 39 and Greg Gin (16) and Doug Ellwood (23) both on 38 pts. Nearest the pins, on the 3rd Maurice Meehan, 5th Phil Lloyd, 9th Gary Thorne who just missed a hole in one, 13th the ever accurate Phil Lloyd and the 16th was our winner of the day Chris Waterson. Saturday golf After one of the best games of golf at Kerang for a while Don Ross (10) won the day with a great score of 47 pts which equates to Don having a stroke score of 1 under the card 70 off the stick. 3 birdies and 1 bogie on the front saw him at the turn 2 under the card. His back nine started with a double but a birdie on 14 and the all the rest of the holespars ended up a great day for Donny. The ball pool also had some good scores in there with Chris Gray (15) scoring 44 pts, Scott Worner (31) from Lalbert on 43, Gary Pay (17) and Scott Harry (17) both on 41 and Ron Schultze (27) and Greg McNeil (24) on 40 pts. The nearest the pins were on the 3rd Kevin Sambrooks, 5th Scott Worner, 9th Don Ross, 13th superpin Shane Dibsdale and the 16 th went to Tony Laughlin. The prized pen award went to the very pleased Lindsay Hogg and as mentioned earlier Don Ross had the best stroke score of 70. Our ladies had a small but quality field on Saturday and the winner was Michelle Dillon (8) who had a 3 point win over the ever improving Jenny Waterson (22) and Jan Harry (14). Premier League Premier League started up again and the results were all one sided due to players being away. The Captains dft Hall Hackers 142 – 68, Hogans Heroes dft Whips Boys 144 – 69 and Birdies and Beers dft Thorne Birds 150 – 69. With only one round left the ladder is very close with only 4pts separating first and forth. The ladder is 1st Birdies and Beers, 2ndHogans Heroes both on 24 pts,3rd The Captains and 4th Thorne Birds both on 20 pts, 5th Whips Boys on 12 pts and last Halls Hackers on 8pts. Games this week are Thorne Birds V The Captains for the fight for 3rd place, Hals Hackers v Whips Boys to see who ends up on the bottom and the fight for top spot is between Birdies and Beers v Hogans Heroes. Coming events We have our ever popular Aust Day 4p Ambrose on Sunday so please get your names in early for this day and pennant starts soon so please put your name on the sheet in the club house if you want to play. Saturday winners Don Ross and Michelle Dillon Ladies Golf 6 lovely ladies plaed in very windy conditions, Jan Harry (14) won with 32, from Michelle Dillon (8) 31.
