/Thursday R & R Stableford
Well what can I say about Thursday’s winner Chris Waterson (6) even he was heard to say that he was in awe of himself, that he had played that well it was like he was on a different planet to everyone else. Chris had 69 off the stick to win with 44 pts to crush the rest of the field by 6 points. Chris started off Par, Birdie, Bogie then with another birdie and bogie on 6 and 7 and then going around the back nine in 2 under made for a great day for Chris. Those poor others in the ball pool were Col Wilkie (12) on 38, Joe Tartaglia (17) with 37 pts. Nearest the pins went to Greg Gin on the 3rd, no one on the 5th, Chris Waterson on the 9th and 16th and Don Ross on the 9th .
Saturday Golf
Again another of our newest golfers had a big day out. Brad Short belied his handicap of 21 and had a blinder of a round with 84 off the stick to come in with 44 pts. Others in the ball pool were Michael Dee (25 from Axedale) and Gary Pay (17) on 38, Blake Shay (11) and Tony Laughlin (10) each on 37. Sunday Laughie 4 Ball
On a day dedicated to probably the best golfer to come out of Kerang, Ian Laughlin, the Laughie 4 Ball sponsored by Graham Wyte was played with a fairly stiff southerly blowing most of the day. A couple of teams pulled out early due to forecast high temperatures but the rest enjoyed the day with the Men’s winners being Gary Pay (16) / Hamish Downs (36) winning on count back with 46 pts. In second place was Chris Waterson (4) / Col Wilkie (12) and third went to Shane Dibsdale (12) / Gav Teasdale (13) on 45. Ladies winners were Ian Laughlin’s daughter-in-law and grand daughter Rosie Laughlin (36) / Ang Morton (20) on a very good score of 48 pts and R/up was Michelle Dillon (8) / Chrissy Downs (30) a long way behind on 41 on a c/b from Toni Kilderry (33) / Karyl Hewitt (38).
Lorraine Bray got nearest the pin on the 3rd, Joe Tartaglia the 5th, John Horn 9th, Shane Dibsdale 13th and
Ben Laughlin on the 16th.
