Poddy Free must have had his putter working well as he had birdies on the 3rd and 16th holes but no nearest the pins. Or did he have a couple of “gobblers”?

The ten best scores were half ladies and half men. Rosie Laughlin claimed the pen on behalf of the ladies.

Saturday Golf

A perfect day for golf on Saturday and a quality field watched the Captain, Scott Harry (12,) have a day out with the putter, to win the day with 40 points. When you only have 24 putts you should have a good score hey Scotty. Ladies winner was again our youngest golfer, 8 year old Mabel Spitty (45), who had 42 pts, I’m sure her handicap will come down very quickly this year and probably challenge her sister Olive before to long. Ladies runner up on a c/b was Jean Youl (22) 37. In the ball pool we had Shirley Jenner (20) 37, Jill Marshall (32), Ron Schultze (23) and Graham Wyte (11) all on 36 points. Nearest the pins were Doug Meehan 3rd, Chris Waterson 5th, Graham Wyte 9th, Tony Laughlin won the money on 13th, with his worst shot of the day, and Olive Spitty beat the captain for the ball on 16th. Joe Tartaglia was the pen winner and Andrew Spitty had 74 off the stick which included an eagle on 11.
