Saturday Golf

Unfortunately no sooner do we get back into golf then the rain gods get angry and send down a lot of rain and we cancelled play on Thursday, never mind we still have Saturday’s and Jim Apostolelis (24), after getting a birdie on the last hole, come in with 38 points to win by 1 from Jack Hewitt (13) on 37. In the Ladies comp, after coming last on Wednesday, Melissa Wishart (32) got her game together and won with 37 pts and Runners Up for the Ladies was Jan Harry (13) with 36.

Ball Pool recipients were Jan Harry 36, Chris Waterson (5), Michelle Dillon (8), Joe Tartaglia (16) and Jim Clark (16) all on 35 pts, Logan Keighran (3), Andrew Spitty (+1) and Geoff Williams (17) all on 34. The best on the par 3’s were Col Wilkie on the 3rd , Phil Lloyd 5th , Chrissy Downs 9th , Deaniee Henderson 16th and Dave Conlan got the money on the 13th .

Andrew Spitty made a mockery of the windy and cold conditions to have the best stroke score of the day with 72 off the stick which included 2 birdies and 3 bogies and the very affable Jo Martin won the pen much to her delight.

On Sunday we held a 3 Person Ambrose and the winning team were the veterans in the field and they were Graham Wyte, Col Wilkie and David Wood with a score of 68-5.66=62.33 well done to those 3.

Nearest the pins were 3rd Col Wilkie, 5th Matt Heaviside and again on the 9th , Scott Harry on the 13th and no one managed to find the 16th green with their first shot.

Next Saturday will be a stableford round with hit off at 12:30 so get your names in for that. The time sheet will be in the green fee box area during the week and the Captain will have it at home Friday night for those wanting to book in late.

Ladies Wednesday

15 ladies played in ideal conditions, with Meryl Cameron winning the day with 35pts. The next best were Michelle Dillon, Jan Harry and Carol Dear on 32pts.

NTP on the 9th, with a lovely shot and also welcome back Colleen Free, the 13th went to Marlene Orr and it was good to have Elaine Ellwood back.

Next week hit off will be 10am.
