Saturday Max & Gav Day Stableford Results Well I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year celebrations and didn’t overindulge too much and if you did, walking the golf course would be a good idea. On Saturday last we had our Max and Gav day, which was open to everyone, golfers and nongolfers and we had over 50 players turn up. Which shows how popular the day is. On a day that threatened to be hot but didn’t eventuate, it was perfect for golf. In the non-golfers’ section Carey Wilkie had the best day with a score of 94–24 = 73 nett to win from Peter Morris 83-8 = 75 nett, with a score like that I think I should try to recruit Peter to the club. The pen awards were for the nongolfers Cameron Moore and for the golfers Nick Sims. The longest drive for the day belonged to Peter Morris and the nearest the line shot went to Toni Kilderry. Nearest the pins were on the 3 rd Red Manners, 5 th and the 9 th went to Dan Shephard, Superpin 13 th Grub McKnight and the 16 th to Kevin Lockman. For the golf Ladies the winner was Toni Kilderry(34) from Tooleybuc with 36 pts from Michelle Dillon(9) on 35, Men’s winner was Brian Curthoys (34) from Lalbert on 42 pts to also win by one point from club captain Scott Harry(17) on 41 pts. In the ball pool we had on 40 pts Bryan Livingston(20), Rob Fabry(23), David Gray(19), Max Wilson(17), Andrew Spitty(2) and Scott Worner(32) on 39, Shane Dibsdale(12), James Meehan(12)and Tony Laughlin(12) all on 38 pts and the last in the ball pool on 37 pts Doug Ellwood(23) and Jarrad Walker(12). Twilight golf for everyone, golfers and nongolfers starts this Tuesday, so those who would like to play hit off is between 4 and 6 pm with a bbq following. Again, I wish everyone all the best for the New Year and I hope all those thinking of taking up the game please join up and join in the club and remember we were all beginners in the game once upon a time. Max & Gav Day Winners: Toni Kilderry from Tooleybuc and Brian Curthoys from Lalbert.
