/Ladies Wednesday 31 August 2022
Spring is here, which means that the birds (Plovers) are breeding. Megan Taylor and Chrissie Downs
had to stand guard to protect Renee Wilkinson, who was putting in her second card, from our very
friendly (not so much) plovers, there was lots of yelling, dancing, and laughing going on. Hopefully
they will move on soon!
Nola Robinson (28) won the day on a countback from Meryl Cameron (15) with 32 points. Meryl had
a nice birdie on the 16 th . The course was heavy in racing terms, with Chrissy Downs (27) was the only
other player to make 30 points. Michelle Dillon (10) collected the last ball in the Ball Pool with 29
points and won the NTP coffee voucher on the Chino’s 9 th Hole. Thanks Raylene.
Welcome back to Lorraine Bray after an eye, she was seeing the ball so clear, it might take a while to
adjust her golf game, taking home the Pen Award and suggesting that we get some note pads.
Next week Monthly Medal Shirt, with hit off at 10.00am.
Thursday R & R Stableford
Another good field of golfers for our R & R day, in good weather saw 5 golfers tie at the top with 36
pts each. The eventual winner for the day on c/b from the rest was the sweet swinging Ken Williams
(21). The others in the ball pool were Col Wilkie (12), Joe Tartaglia (16) and Gavin Teasdale (13) and
Chris Gray (16) just missed out. Nearest the pins went to Brendan Shields on the 3 rd , Col Wilkie 5 th ,
Gavin Teasdale 9 th , Chris Gray on the 13 th and no one got on to the 16 th .
Saturday Monthly Medal Stroke
With footy finals at Kerang and Wandella the field had only 16 golfers but again good weather, but
the wind was a factor for the day. Men’s winner of the Monthly Medal with a fine score of 66 net
was Col Wilkie (12). I’m sure our handicapper will hamstring him after that score. Ladies’ winner was
Deaniee Henderson (19) with a net 68. Ball pool was Michelle Dillon (10) 72, Doug Meehan (5) 74
and last ball went to Pat Featonby (20) net 74 also. Nearest the pins went to Chris Waterson 3 rd , Col
Wilkie 5 th , Jack Hewitt 9 th , Ross Nesbit 16 th and no one claimed the money on the 13 th . Casey Gillen
turned up claiming he was going to be in the place getters Saturday, and he was as he won the pen,
well done Casey. Don’t forget the Captains play 9 comp is still running and you can play that as many
times you like, the Visual Appeal Ambrose on 23 rd September and Club Championships will be here
before too long, so get practising for them.
