Golf Results 7th October
/Ladies Golf – Wednesday October 7th
There’s nothing like the threat of a rainy day to sort the princesses from real golfing royalty! Unfortunately, the princesses were warm and dry while some of the lady golfers came in wet, cold and underwhelmed with the whole game! We welcomed Jan Milne to our club this week. She picked a challenging week to put her first card in, especially after her son had advised her to leave her umbrella at home!
The weather posed no problem to Meryl Cameron who finished with a fine 72 nett to be our Monthly Medallist for October. Michelle Dillon was runner up with 74. These two ladies whizzed around the course quickly with their great scores, so the rest of the field found them smiling and snug in the office when they finished. Nola Robinson nabbed a ball for her 75 nett and Meryl Cameron was the putting winner with 27 for the day.
Next week is a stableford round. We have the ladies from Lake Boga Riverside joining the field to contest their special Brooch Day.
Club Championships are fast approaching.
Round 1 – Wednesday October 21 (also Medallist of the Year on this day)
Round 2 – Wednesday October 28
Round 3 – Wednesday November 4
See you next week at 9.30 for 10am.
Thursday Golf
Nine foolhardy but courageous men braved the elements to play their game of golf and get out of the house for a few hours. The best of the mad men was our President Terry Turvey (13) who came in with 33 pts to beat Phil Lloyd (11) on 31. Nearest the pins were Phil Lloyd on the 3rd and 9th, Frank Ritchie got the 13th and Gary Pay was the best on the 16th, unfortunately no one could hit it hard enough into the wind to get it on the 5th green.
Saturday Golf
Another big field of golfers honed their skills for the start of club championships next week in weather more attuned to golf rather than what we had during the week. Winners for the day were the happy couple of Beau Bennett in the Men’s and Katelyn Wright in the ladies. We had visitors come from Axedale, Lalbert, Murrabit and Berriwillock so welcome to those players.
As mentioned Beau Bennett (20), one of our newest golfers, had a blinder of a day to win the Monthly Medal with a nett 63 to win from Rob Fabry (20) on a nett 68. Ladies winner Katelyn Wright (29) had a nett 73 and R/up was Michelle Dillon (9) on nett 75. Nearest the pins went to Gary Thorne on the 3rd, Ross Nesbit the 5th, Allan Free 9th, Andrew Spitty got the money on the 13th and Blake Shay on the 16th. In the ball pool and there were plenty, of those was Rob Fabry 68, Michael Dee (29) 70, Scott Harry (15) and Phil Lloyd (11) both on nett 72, Dave Conlan (22), Frank Cianci (24), Logan Keighran (2), David Gray (19) and Blake Shay (11) all on nett 73, Cody Touhey (20), Kevin Sambrooks (18), Tony Laughlin (10) had nett 74, Riley Keighran (33) and Michelle Dillon got the last two balls on nett 75.
